The new Play:Date — Unlocking Cabinets of Play showcase at the National Museum of Singapore lets you enter a world filled with nostalgia, and reminisce about the good old days playing with toys like Barbie dolls, Hot Wheels mini cars, Tamagotchi, gaming consoles and more.

There’s over 250 one-of-a-kind iconic toys and collectibles on display, including rare vintage toys dating from the 1980s till modern toys from present day. Some toy highlights to look forward to include a collection of local vintage Mcdonald’s toys from the 80s, unique Barbie doll collaborations, iconic yellow Matchbox cars, Hot Wheels, retro Tamagotchi models in rare designs and more. For more modern-day toy lovers, there will also be art toys like POP MART and Disney on display.

There will even be interactive and immersive activities for you to participate in, like a life-sized human claw machine, old-school arcade games, a live 8-bit filter machine where you can view yourself in retro 8-bit form, a station where you can DIY your own personalised avatar with local-inspired accessories, a photobooth and more. Admission to Play:Date is free.
