Johor Bahru is known for their sweet treats, and we’ve found yet another novel treat that sweet tooths might enjoy—cold “lava” milk tea drinks topped with entire blocks of ice cream! These unique “lava” drinks are found at Adam Hawa Café, located less than 10 minutes away from the checkpoint.

The drinks are called “Air Lava”, which translates literally to “Lava Water”. Visually, the drinks look pretty accurate to their name, featuring tall glasses of milk tea that’s been shaken till they’re super frothy, with thick foam running down the sides of the glass to mimic “lava”. As if the milk tea isn’t enough sweetness, each drink is also topped with a whole slab of vanilla or chocolate ice cream, kind of like a milk tea float!

The “lava” drinks start from RM 5.90 each (~$1.70 SGD) and there are 3 different flavours to choose from: Tea Lava (RM 6.90; ~$2 SGD), Pink Lava (RM 5.90; ~$1.70 SGD) and Green Tea Lava (RM 7.90; ~$2.30 SGD).
