Remember the viral jiggly cat pudding and XXL seafood cup noodles from Hana Restaurant? Well, they’ve just launched a brand new concept, transforming their restaurant space in Orchard into an authentic Japanese “fish market”—the first of its kind in Singapore!
The new Hana Fish Market is inspired by the famous Tsukiji Fish Market in Japan, and they’ve got the market vibe down pat: from the stacked styrofoam boxes filled with “ice”, tins of fresh “seafood” and handwritten price tags in Kanji/Katakana. They’ve even got whole fish and seafood (fake ones, of course), that look like the real deal, plus little touches like knife props, weighing scales and more to really make the place look like an actual fish market!
Plenty of thought has gone into the decor of Hana Fish Market, from custom “Hana Fish Market” branded plastic bags, neon signages and signboards, to “invoices” and “order slips” pasted all around, and you can even spot some B&W photos taken from the actual Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo!
Note that the Hana Fish Market is a concept store, and is not actually a real fish market where you can buy fresh seafood. While the seafood items on display look incredibly realistic, they’re all props; so feel free to touch and snap as many photos as you like within the space!
XXL Chirashi, $42
Sushi Tacos (set of 5), $32
Regular 12 Plates, $38
Premium Omakase Seafood Pot, $58
Fancy yourself a fishmonger? Dress up as one and snap as many photos as you want in the space by donning an apron, gloves and helmet! To match the fish market theme, Hana Restaurant has also curated a new seafood-centric menu featuring premium fresh seafood, such as an Omakase-style Seafood Pot (from $38), Seafood Tower ($98), XXL Chirashi ($42), Lobster Pop Noodles ($26) and Sushi Tacos ($32).
