It’s an exciting year for diehard fans of the world’s most beloved feline. If the recently opened Hello Kitty cafe was not enough to quell your kitty fever, fret not. Come June 11, an interactive theme park named Robot Kitty will stop by in town at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. The event boasts a tonne of photo attractions, interactive games and exclusive memorabilia. There will even be an autograph session for Kitty fans.
All admission tickets come with a gaming card and the optional Robot Kitty gaming device figurine is sold separately. As participants make their way through the zones – creatively and functionally named the Design, Component, Repair, Quality Check and Energy Departments – they can experience the challenges of each department in the form of interactive games. The games are also designed to be intuitive with a simple gameplay simulating a process that one would expect in the aptly-named department. Interspersed in between the gaming departments are also photo opportunity zones specially designed for that perfect Robot Kitty souvenir snapshot.
The Robot K, besides being a gaming device for the accumulation of points garnered, is also a worthy collectible in itself. The points accumulated from playing the interactive games can then be used to earn collectors’ edition items to further accessorise the Robot K figurine –making it all the more unique!
Participants holding on to the gaming cards will be able to savour the experience in the interactive gaming departments, without accumulation of points. However, participants who wish to indulge in the spirit of the event can purchase the Robot K gaming device figurine to win points, which can then be used to redeem accessories and upgrade their figurines.
The merchandise counters will no doubt be a crowd-puller as well, with a myriad of official goods such as Robot Kitty cushions, figurines, plush toys, keychains and even an LED-lit umbrella! To add on to that, there are is also a quaint stall selling Hello Kitty themed snacks and tidbits right after outside the check-out counters.
This will be the first time the event has come to Southeast Asia, after successful runs in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Shanghai. And there is no doubt that it will be a smashing success here in Singapore, too.
