Chicken Rice is one of Singapore’s iconic dishes that needs no introduction. You can catch a whiff of its fragrance just by stepping into any hawker centre/food court/coffee shop. However, today, we’re bringing you a chicken rice stall that has added a unique spin to this local delicacy!
Located in The Rail Mall at Bukit Timah, New Teck Kee Chicken Rice serves gigantic portions of Truffle Chicken Rice for only $23 and it sounds like a good dish to try with 4 other friends(well, because of social distancing)! Although we’ve yet to try it, we’ve seen some really great online reviews about this chicken rice!
An online reviewer has noted that the rich truffle oil is generously drizzled all over Teck Kee’s chicken rice, giving the dish an earthy fragrance that complements well with the ginger-garlic notes of the rice. The chicken is tender and flavourful. Even with the truffle oil, the savoury chicken gravy is not overpowered, giving the dish a nice balance.
Other than chicken rice, Teck Kee also offers a range of zi-char dishes such as Deep Fried Prawn Roll($10), Deep Fried Pork Belly($12) and even Laksa($5.50)!
