7-Eleven Now Has Earl Grey Bubble Milk Tea Cake from Taiwan

One of the best ways to impress (or distract) relatives during Chinese New Year is through food. Lots of it. But apart from the usual pineapple tarts and spicy prawn rolls, here’s a modern snack you can show up with: bubble milk tea cakes.

7-Eleven recently announced that they now have earl grey-flavoured bubble milk tea cakes direct from Taiwan. This much adorned-snack has everything that makes a good cup of bubble tea: brown sugar fillings, chewy bobas, and a distinct earl grey flavour. Put all of that into a cake and you’ve got a winner!

If it looks anything like the one in Taiwan, each box should come with multiple individual packets.

And the filling should look like this:

Finally a bubble tea cake that doesn’t involve just slapping a handful of pearls on top the cake itself. Will you try it?
