Are you a crazy cat lady (or gentleman) who absolutely adores and worships cats? Now you can release all that undying affection at a Japanese temple without getting judged. Nyan Nyan Ji, which literally translates to Meow Meow Temple, is a famous cat shrine in Kyoto that allows you to worship the adorable feline.
Heading the pack is head monk and most popular cat, Koyuki, who will greet you at the entrance of the shrine.
Don’t be fooled by her hostile look — according to her owner, she loves interacting with her ‘worshippers’!
The temple is filled with cat-related memorabilia and drawing — you may even bring a piece of the place back with you by buying souvenirs from their gift shop, Littlefootmark Ren.
They also have a cat-themed menu: think fishcakes in the shape of cats and cookies with paw designs!
Besides Koyuki, Nyan Nyan Ji also has other cat ‘assistants’ that are equally adorable!
They hold cat festivals occasionally, so stalk their social media regularly!
Admission to Nyan Nyan Ji is free.
