This is the time for all you sharp-witted sleuths to shine! If you’re looking for some sort of escape from your everyday life, challenge yourself by taking a stab at an escape room. Be strategic and get a couple of your brainier pals for this next adventure because you’ll really need all the help you can get.
A MIND-BOGGLING & VEXING ADVENTURE? GAME ON!
Over at Lockdown, you get to choose from 3 different escape rooms, all themed to popular games and movies that you’re sure to have heard about before even if you haven’t watched or played them.
Harry Potter fans will be thrilled to step into the shoes of detective Bearry Potter to solve the mystery of the room of secret doors.
Being the curious first year students at the wizarding school, you and all your magical buddies have stumbled upon a room that has many doors but only one exit! Use maps, portraits, wands and anything you can find to track down the legendary Quidditch player Jordan Whittaker, who’s disappearance seems uncannily like yours to escape the room or forever be stuck inside.
Armed with an iPad through which the clues will be delivered to you, you need to connect the dots on both the iPad-given clues together with the everything else in the room to solve the puzzles. It’s not all digital though, as there are more clues all hidden around in plain sight for an interactive game.
Some of the rooms might hide more mysteries than answers, but they’ll all come in handy. And don’t worry if you’ve never watched the Harry Potter movies or read the books as all the clues can be solved without the background knowledge. Of course, everything will make more sense if you’re a fan, but we can’t reveal too much or the suspense will be gone.
Or maybe you’re in love with the idea of being a justice vigilante, quietly working in the background to ensure that everyone gets what they deserve. Live out your Batman dreams in Bears Of Justice, where you and your squad needs to defuse a bomb planted by an old nemesis!
The super villain has a targeted a nuclear facility, which is disastrous if it explodes. Make use of the iPad to work out the clues, and if you’re really struggling to solve the clues, there are hints which you can request for. And for those who get a little claustrophobic, you can always send an SOS to the game master who might just have a little mercy and get you out of there.
The last themed escape room is a dreamworld that gamers are more than familiar with.
There’s only one way out when you wake up in a pixelated dreamworld and it’s through the locked gates. The Bearcraft Dreamworld is the nightmare of every gamer who spends way too much playing video games, so much that you don’t know if you’re awake or still playing the game!
Inspired by building blocks game Minecraft, you’ll spot pixel creatures and have to build your own exit.
For all 3 escape rooms, you’ve got 60 minutes to figure your way out before the clock runs out. So think fast and be thrilled by all the hidden easter eggs. We’ll leave you to find out what they are!
MORE ESCAPE ROOMS & 4D GAMES AT V-ROOM
It’s like a modern day arcade over at V-Room, with all sorts of puzzle, adventure and even local multiplayer games that brings you into other worlds through virtual reality. For a truly immersive escape room experience in other worlds and dimensions, you might want to go for the Virtual Reality Escape Room.
You can choose between 2 Virtual Reality Escape Rooms: find out what it’ll be like to be stuck in an Abandoned Mine or have a trippy journey in Illusion, where you escape a mental asylum only to be faced with even more treacherous adventures. Grab your buddies and enter the other worlds. Up to 5 people can join the Virtual Reality Escape Room together at any one time, and it’ll cost $30 per person on weekends and $24 per person on weekdays for an hour’s playtime.
Now that you’re familiar with virtual reality and how to move about, you might as well continue the fun by playing virtual reality games.
Other than the Virtual Reality Escape Rooms, V-Room has a slew of other games, all in the same glorious reality of another virtual dimension. See if you’ll survive a zombie apocalypse in the first person shooter games as you fight your way through hordes of the undead, or take your pick from the huge range of games where you can become the hero of your own adventure or take a trip into monstrous otherworlds and even outer space.
Love those rhythm games at the arcade where you have to tap in beat to the music? Well, you’ll love Beat Saber. The VR rhythm game requires you to use lightsabers to slash the beats as they fly towards at you; it’s kind of like being a jedi and fighting music beats!
If you’ve got a couple of minutes to spare and you love exploring the wilderness, you might want to check out the Google Earth. Dive deep underwater or scale up plunging mountain cliffsides that would have been impossible in real life! And you can do so without even having to leave the country!
V-Room charges by the hour, so you can play as many games as you want in an hour from just $12 per person on weekdays, and $15 an hour per person on weekends. Each VR station allows up to 3 people, who can play together on the same console, although do note that the Virtual Reality Escape Room has a different rate.
MORE UNLIMITED FUN AT COFFEEMIN WITH XBOX, BOARD GAMES & POOL
Exploring other dimensions can be mentally tiring , so take a breather with some old-school games. Just a couple of steps away is Coffeemin, which is a cafe with XBox, plenty of board games, and a pool table.
The cafe is a great place to hang out, especially after an overwhelming escape room. All the games at Coffeemin are free to play and is included in the price. Fuel up on free-flow snacks like flower gem biscuits and Oreo, which are placed on a counter for everyone to enjoy and also included in the price.
