4. Geylang Serai Bazaar 2019
The annual Hari Raya Bazaar is back this weekend, and will be running for the next month at Wisma Geylang Serai. Crowds flock to the over 300 stalls lining the streets around the Wisma Geylang Serai area to break fast with the various mouth-watering eats and shop decorative items like traditional clothes and rugs. And in case your intention to go is just for the ‘gram, this year’s bazaar will have a heavier focus on traditional Malay food and lesser ‘hipster’ food stalls. But all stalls will be Halal, and you can expect offerings like lobster rolls and a White Rabbit bucket drink in addition to favourite mainstays like Ramly Burger and nasi bukhari.

5. This Is What Happens To Pretty Girls
Inspired by the #MeToo movement, Ken Kwek’s latest play delves into a deeper topic of sexual violence and how it affects not just women, but also men. Get served up with the harsh but honest truths of modern day society who blames the victims of sexual assault and harassment as the play touches on a sensitive but socially relevant (and slightly taboo) topic. Directed by Tracie Pang, the cast includes both familiar faces and new ones like Adrian Pang, Oon Shu An, Pam Oei, Thomas Pang, and Tess Pang.

8. European Union Film Festival
This year’s edition of the European Film Festival sees 27 films from around Europe take the silver screen. This year shines the spotlight on Romania, with headlining film Beside Me that explores the connectivity between human beings on a subway train when they get stuck together and won the Best Feature Drama 2019 award at the I Will Tell Film Festival London. Other highlight films include A Fortunate Man (Denmark), One Last Deal (Finland), Once Upon A Time In Anatolia (Turkey) and Sing Street (Ireland).

9. 22 Stories
22 stories, 22 characters, 22 rooms to explore. This is Andsoforth’s biggest immersive installation ever, and they’ve gone all the way with what we’re looking at to be this year’s most Instagrammable exhibition. Each of the 22 rooms are all inspired by various scenes in fairytales, split into 4 zones: Grimmsneyland, Land Of Nights, Wonderland, and Storyland. Get ready for Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, huge swans, magical beanstalks, croquet grounds, and more. You’ll be lucky to spot Cinderella or The Little Mermaid as they spontaneously appear, if not you can just fill your tummies over at the Wonder Bar with farm-to-table meals from Farm Appetit.

10. Phantom Of The Opera
The longest running show on Broadway is making its long-awaited return to Marina Bay Sands Theatre again to thrill theatre goers. Opening this week on 24 April and running until 8 June, The Phantom Of The Opera is a tale of unrequited love and passion set in the Paris Opera House when a disfigured musical genius falls in love with a young soprano protégé. The theatre masterpiece written by Andrew Lloyd Weber is back with an award-winning score featuring classic songs like “All I Ask Of You”, “Masquerade”, and “Music Of The Night”.
