It’s Monday once more and you might have a long week ahead of you, but what’s in store this coming weekend will be sure to cheer you up and keep you going – there’s the return of the Singapore Food Festival, an inaugural Singapore Cat Festival, and a chance for you to slurp up over 20 different kinds of oysters!
1. Singapore Food Festival 2018

It’s the time for $0.50 hawker favourites again! Back for its 25th edition, the 17-day Singapore Food Festival 2018 is split into 4 categories – Modernity, Arts, Culture, and Tradition.

There’ll be a total of 20 events happening under these categories, including the usual highlights like the 50 Cents Fest and STREAT, where you can expect both traditional and reinvented hawker fare by local culinary talents.

New events consist of Park Bench Deli Collaborations, where you can expect creations like char siew banh mi and premium char siew bossam, Beer Yoga & Citylights, which combines an hour of yoga with a bottle of limited-edition beer from craft brewery Trouble Brewing, as well as McDonald’s Love Local Campaign, where a specially-crafted, local-inspired menu will be made available during this period!

2. Singapore Cat Festival 2018

Cat lovers, this one’s for you because it’s the first-ever Singapore Cat Festival! Feel free to bring your furry friend and sit for educational talks by cat experts and sharing sessions between owners, watch a breed showcase, or shop around for cat-related products from both local and international brands.

There’ll also be cat-themed trinkets for us to bag home, like Kittea with their cat-themed teas, and Purrballs and their adorable illustrations!

3. Happy Ever Laughter

They say that laughter is the best medicine, so reinvigorate yourself at Happy Ever Laughter, the biggest live stand-up comedy event in Singapore! 4. DurianBB Party

If you’re a durian fan, go forth and conquer at DurianBB Party, an all-you-can-eat durian bonanza that’s all the rage in Hong Kong, Macau, and Malaysia! 5. Cake Club by Marina Square

For those of you who absolutely love cake, head down to Cake Club at Marina Square, where there’ll be all sorts of bakes and sugary delights on sale at the pop-up Cake Bar, including ones by Bloomsbury Bakers, Inthebrickyard, Milk Moons, and My Sister Bakes.

6. Sentosa GrillFest 2018

Singapore’s only 1km-long food street by the beach is back again for its 2nd edition, and as usual, the Sentosa GrillFest boasts over hundreds of dishes by more than 20 restaurants, cafes, and 2nd-generation hawkers.
Some of the vendors to look out for this year includes Kinsa Sushi and their signature Wagyu Beef Bowl, Fat Belly, who will be serving their popular medium-rare Mayura Signature Wagyu Tri-tip Steak, and Co+Nut+ink with their refreshing coconut ice cream!

8. Pink Screen at The Projector

9. Greenwood Fish Market: 6th World Oyster Festival

Indulge yourself with 22 different kinds of fresh oysters flown in live from all around the world at Greenwood Fish Market’s 6th World Oyster Festival! The month-long event kicked off on 1st July and boasts oyster variants uncommonly found here in Singapore, which includes the Mary Point and Kumamoto – the former boasts a huge flesh size, soft texture, and musky flavour, and the latter is mildly briny and sweet with a pleasantly surprising honeydew finish!

10. L’Occitane Beauty Bar and Pop-Up Cafe: A Journey In Every Sense

Beauty and makeup junkies, this one’s for you – well-known for their floral-herbal skincare and body care products, French cosmetics brand L’Occitane is here in Singapore with a pop-up beauty bar and cafe!
This is the first time the famous L’Occitane Cafe will be on our shores, with outlets in both Paris and Tokyo, and it will have delectable desserts created by homegrown dessert maestro Janice Wong. Inspired by L’Occitane’s iconic natural ingredients, you can expect treats made with cherry blossom, verbena, bergamot, rose, and almond.

11. Rainforest Lumina

We’ve never had the chance to see the sunset at the Singapore Zoo, but in celebration of its 45th birthday, we can now do so with their brand new attraction, Rainforest Lumina! It’s the first multi-sensory night walk in Asia, and the 1km light trail will feature over 10 interactive zones with various light installations and projections such as the Luminous Pathway, Shimmering Islands, and Lantern Passage.
