Singapore is not lacking in the creative and design scene as evident from these independent brands helmed (largely) by designers who are proudly hawking their wares and creating or curating products to fill in the gap they identified in the local market. From candles capturing a specific scent, or a homegrown make-up label, #supportlocal with these local independent brands that are curating cute and quirky products we never knew we needed.
1. Hornest
Purveyor of all things outdoorsy, Hornest is a marketplace of quirky military paraphernalia peppered with a dose of local fanfare and pop culture. They also bring in high quality tactical and outdoor gears from the United States, which are battlefield proven. Ohleaf curates ceramic products from budding artists all over the world, focusing on traditional ceramic making skills as well as novel contemporary design concepts. 3. Faux Fayc
Seeing that there was a lack of homegrown cosmetic brands, Faux Fayc was created to fill that gap in the local scene. Catering to women of all ages, their novel, dramatic and bold cosmetic line is a cult favourite among makeup gurus and local social media influencers.

4. Pew Pew Patches
Launched by Hong Kong-based Singaporean fashion designer Dawn Bey, the brand hopes to bring back the fun and ‘collector-like’ nature of iron-on patches. Designed in collaboration with her graphic designer friend Danny Kostianos, they create witty and cute patches that are original artworks, or are homages to the different local cultures.

Created by a husband for his wife due to the lack of a scented candle that they liked, A Dose of Something was born to capture the right feeling or memory that was important to them.
