Fancy having Ya Kun at home? Knead Kopi is a unique home-based café that serves traditional-style breakfast foods and drinks from just $1.60. Unlike most home-based cafés that focus more on atas coffee, Knead Kopi offers local-inspired breakfast, and they even use retro dishware to mimic that old-school vibe. The café’s owner previously ran a home bakery before deciding to expand into a home café, operating on the front porch of their semi-detached house in Bukit Timah.

The set up features a counter where you can see the day’s bakes displayed, as well as folding tables and chairs for dining in. Bakes and kaya are freshly homemade, and on the menu are items like: Knead Kopi Set ($8.50), Mochi Brownies ($5), Egg Tarts ($2.50) and more.

2. Two Sisters’ Smoothie

Singapore now has our very own version of the viral Hailey Bieber smoothies from upscale LA grocery store Erewhon, and you don’t even have to fork out $20 for it. Two Sisters’ Smoothie serves aesthetic and freshly-blended fruit smoothies from the front porch of their semi-detached house in Siglap, starting from a pocket-friendly $5.90 a cup. Their smoothies are inspired by the viral Erewhon versions, but made much more affordable.

Two Sisters’ smoothies are made with your choice of base: apple juice, coconut water or almond milk; with about 10 different flavour options to choose from. The various layers in the smoothies are also swirled to mimic the IG-worthy aesthetics of the Erewhon smoothies. Some flavours you can get include Strawberry Glaze (from $5.90), Bananas 4 You (from $6.90), The Islander (from $5.90) and more.

3. State of Mind

Coffee from a window anyone? State of Mind serves unique artisanal coffee brews and espresso from a window of a HDB flat in Yishun. What’s great about this home-based café is their dedication to serving barista-quality drinks that are comparable to those you’d get at cafés, but at pocket-friendly prices.

Many customers have also raved about how good their coffee tastes, and how affordable the drinks are, starting from $4 a cup. Must-try sepcialty drinks from the menu include Iced Aerocano (4), Espresso Tonic ($5.50), Black Sesame Hojicha ($5.50), Earl Grey Yuan Yang ($5.50) and more.

If you’re an Eastie, you might want to swing by Brewprint Coffee, a Muslim-owned home-based café with unique handcrafted coffee brews and matcha drinks. Brewprint Coffee is located in a HDB flat in Tampines Central, and they’re known for their premium coffees brewed with 2 different types of beans sourced from global growers: Brazil Rio Brihante or Ethiopia Sakicha.

Koat. is much more than just a home-based café, they’re more like a creative house offering venue rentals, curated pop-up markets, workshop experiences and more. The space is super aesthetic and moody, with a rustic and intimate ambience. Currently, they don’t operate the café regularly, only on a pop-up basis, with the next café pop-up event happening in April 2025.

There’s no fixed menu, and food/drink offerings will vary with each café pop-up. The next café experience is called The Tactile Table, and features a tasting menu for $88 per person. Sundays just got even better with The Sunday Bunch, a home-based café that only opens on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. They serve themed brunch experiences from the front yard of their landed house, with limited dine-in space that’s strictly available on a booking basis, no walk-ins allowed.

Their menu is constantly changing with each edition, and they serve a different theme/cuisine each month: burgers, pasta, pies, Mexican and more. The upcoming menu focuses on Vietnamese fare, with items like Beef Pho ($12), Chicken Pho ($10), Spiced Vietnamese Egg Coffee ($6) and more. Say hello to Singapore’s first-ever pet-friendly home-based café: Baobei Coffee. Located in a HDB flat in Tampines, you can feel free to bring along your furry friends for a café run at this home-based spot. Otherwise, you can also play with the owner’s own adorable corgi.

Baobei Coffee is also a mobile coffee cart business, so if you’re looking to have gourmet coffees served at your event, you can always hit them up. On the menu are specially curated drinks like Cloud Hug ($4), Vanilla Horizon ($4.50), Bed of Roses ($4.50), Cocoa Hugs ($4.50) and more.

This Vietnamese home-based spot has been making waves on TikTok, serving up authentic Vietnamese banh mi from a HDB flat in Choa Chu Kang. The business is run by a Vietnamese lady herself, and she used to operate an actual hawker stall before opening the home-based café, so you know the food’s got to be the real deal. Customers are also welcome to wait for their orders in their living room (and watch some TV, maybe?).

The café is a takeaway-only spot, so no dine-ins are allowed. Prices start from a pocket-friendly $5, with items prepared to order fresh on the spot. Started as a school project by a trio of friends, Whisk & Waddles jumps on the matcha craze with their home-based café located on the front porch of a landed home. All matcha drinks are hand-whisked to order, with ingredients like cold foams and syrups all made from scratch.

Coffee Near Me is a home café concept born from the owner’s love for making coffee and baking for family and friends; which led her to open up her landed home to share the love with fellow neighbours and strangers. The café opens only on weekends and public holidays, where visitors can dine-in on the camping tables and chairs set up on the front porch.
