But fret not, with festivities such as the Mid-Autumn Festival and Halloween coming up, many event organisers have returned with new activities for you to try this year, all designed with your safety in mind. Here’s a list of fun things you can do with friends and family this weekend; we’ve got you covered – no matter if you’d like to head out, or just chill and get comfortable at home.
1. Mid-Autumn Festival @ Chinatown
Chinatown’s annual Mid-Autumn Festival will be returning with a virtual twist, and you may expect a series of events including an Online Escape Room and Photography and Lantern Painting competitions that come with great prizes! Tune in to the Opening Ceremony on 17th as it streams live through Facebook to watch the streets come to life with beautiful lanterns, and mark your calendars for programs such as the online Mini Video Series that will stream from 15th to 27th September!

2. Mid-Autumn Festival Light-Up @ Gardens by the Bay
Gardens by the Bay is bringing back their annual Mid-Autumn Festival lantern display with 2,000 hand-painted lanterns, including a series of lanterns depicting the Korean Royal Family’s Walk from the Seoul Lantern Festival. Don’t feel like leaving your house? Participate in a series of virtual programs that start from 18th September!

3. Deep Boo Sea @ S.E.A. Aquarium
Halloween is coming, and S.E.A. Aquarium is here to get you into a spooky mood! From 19th September to 1st November, come face to face with some of nature’s scariest marine animals, such as the wolf eel and the Japanese Warbonnet, and take part in a treasure hunt that can fetch you a mystery gift!

4. Mexican Film Festival @ The Projector
In collaboration with the Mexican Embassy of Singapore, the Projector is here to showcase the lesser-known side of Mexican cinema! From 17th September to 4th October, watch out for a series of dramas including Mara’akame’s Dream and Fireflies that will play exclusively at the hip cinema.

5. Halloween Fun @ Universal Studios Singapore
While Halloween Horror Night had to be cancelled this year, USS is back to serve up the mood for Halloween with a series of daytime activities. Go on Trick or Treat adventures throughout the park and have fun at the park’s popular Minion Monsters Tricky Treats parade! This is definitely something that will delight both kids and adults.
