Drive-thrus for McDonald’s and Starbucks are commonplace, but did you know there’s also a drive-thru for some good ol’ kopitiam fare here in Singapore? The no-frills “drive-thru” is conveniently located in the CBD area, and is run by a 24-hour Muslim-friendly Indian eatery: Akbar 24 Hours Restaurant.

While Akbar’s “drive-thru” is not super fancy like your usual fast food or coffee drive-thrus, it does the job. The “drive-thru” is located behind an inconspicuous alley, where ordering, payment and pick-up is done through the eatery’s back window. You can order directly from the window, or save some time and pre-order via calling the eatery at 6324 2559.

If you’ve got some time to spare, you can also dine-in. Expect the usual Indian eats and drinks at Akbar, Mee Goreng ($4), Nasi Briyani ($5), Masala Dosai (from $3), Egg & Onion Prata ($2); as well as classic kopitiam-style drinks like Iced Kopiccino, Milo Dinosaur, Teh Tarik, juices and more.
