Popular Melbourne-inspired café and supermarket chain, Surrey Hills Grocer has opened yet another new outlet, this time in the CBD at Raffles City! Like the brand’s other outlets, the new cosy space is inspired by lush nature, with soothing wood and sage green tones.

The Raffles outlet also has brand new menu items, including exclusive dishes designed by MasterChef Singapore winner Derek Cheong like the Barramundi ($38), Crab Avo ($28) and Pastrami Egg Benny ($29). Other must-try signatures include the Mochi Egglet Waffle ($26), Laksa Prawn Linguine ($26), Crispy Soft Shell Chilli Crab ($25) and more.

It’s not often you find a pet-friendly café in Singapore that allows your furry companions indoors, but Oh My Dog! is one of those places. At Oh My Dog!, pets get to enjoy a free puppuccino on the house, and even roam free in the café’s designated play area for pets. There’s even a TV installed so you can enjoy screenings of soccer games while you dine.

For the hoomans, the café offers a good selection of café fare and tapas such as Eggs Benedict ($21), Beef Rendang Pie ($16), Mentaiko Pasta with Caviar ($28), Truffle Mushroom Risotto ($19) and more. You can also order drinks like cocktails and beer from the bar.

3. Pöonsti

This new concept serves up small-batch and handmade rösti, and is probably one of the very few places you’ll find such rosti in Singapore. Pöonsti was created by the folks at Old Hen Kitchen and currently doesn’t have its own space yet, residing within Old Hen’s café space at Owen Road. The rösti will be available while stocks last, so make sure to come early if you want to try them.

The potato used for their rösti is also shredded fresh daily, and topped with housemade ingredients like cured salmon and bacon. The current menu is still pretty lean, with only 5 rösti variations including a Plain ($12) one simply served with sour cream and chives. Other options include House Cured Salmon ($19), Country Style Beef Sausage ($16) and Smashed Avo ($17), among others.

Here’s another minimalist Japanese-influenced café to add to your list! Nestled in a shophouse along Outram, Onne is a rustic zen-inspired space filled with dark wood and rattan furnishings. They’re also pet-friendly, so bring along your furbies for a brunch date!

The popular Chinese coffee chain has just unveiled their latest café concept at Jewel Changi Airport, and it’s their biggest outlet in Singapore to date! Aside from a larger dine-in space where you can enjoy your drinks, this new outlet also boasts brand new menu items and even a retail/merchandise area!

6. The Lunar Rabbit Boulangerie

This popular French-inspired café has just opened a brand new outlet in Tanjong Katong, offering their famous fresh bakes and soft serve, all lovingly made from scratch. The minimalist space is the total opposite of their first outlet that features darker tones of black; rather, the new space is clean and bright, with lighter tones of cream and wood.

Fans of the boulangerie can look forward to their signature bakes: Pain au Chocolat ($4.80), The Lunar ($6.80), Trio of C ($7.20), Sacristain ($4.50), Kouign Amann ($5) and more. Local online roastery, Flip Coffee Roasters has opened their very first physical café space, Pocket! The loft-inspired space boasts a minimalist and monochromatic colour palette with black furniture, white brick walls and dark wood flooring.

The café is tucked away in a more underrated and hidden part of the island, at Keppel Road, great for if you’re looking for a spot that’s away from the crowd. The café boasts high ceilings and glass panelled windows, great for enjoying the natural lighting during the day.

9. Rise Bakehouse
This popular bakehouse has opened a new pretty floral and pink-hued space in Orchard with aesthetic K-style cakes, gelato and all-day brunch! The new space offers more dining space and seats, along with rustic floral decor for a homey vibe and large floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the bustling Orchard Road outside.

The highly-anticipated Ralph Lauren Café has finally opened its first outlet in Singapore at MBS!
