Inspired by the popular After You Dessert Café in Bangkok, After Hours is a gorgeous gelato café in the Haw Par Villa area offering toast, waffles, gelato, cold brews and more. The café has a warm wood and orange theme, with unique curved accordion-style seats that are made from actual paper and Scandinavian decor.

Signature items on the menu include their Signature Golden Butter Toast ($9.50), and they have unique ice cream flavours like Soya Bean Milk with Fried Dough Fritters, Grape Yakult with Oreo, Watermelon Soju, Chinese Snow Pear and more. The good folks at Beng Who Cooks are finally back and they’ve started a brand new venture, Wild Crumbs, centering around chunky stuffed sandwiches, rolls, dons, desserts and more! Located at the Immunos Building at Biopolis, Wild Crumbs features an open and airy industrial-inspired space with high glass windows to let in the natural light and give the space a “glasshouse” effect.

Look forward to generously stuffed Japanese-style sandos like the classic Egg Mayo Sando ($9), Chicken Katsu ($12), Crab Roll ($16) and more, as well as Western renditions like the Hotdog Bun with Sweet Relish ($12), plus carious Katsu Rice Bowls, sides and sweet treats from the display like the Banoffee Tart ($6.50).

Hailing from Japan, Takagi Coffee is a famous specialty coffee house boasting a one-of-a-kind in-house live coffee roastery, and they’ve opened their first Singapore outlet at 100AM at Tanjong Pagar! Takagi’s coffee beans are roasted live in-house, and you can choose from drinks like Takagi Coffee Blend ($5.40), Viennese Coffee ($5.90), Oat Milk Latte ($6.40), Soy Matcha Latte ($6.40) and more.

You might be familiar with the name Kōhī, known for their iconic coffee-through-a-window concept at Joo Chiat. This time, they’ve finally opened a proper café space with a sit-down area right smack in the CBD area!

The glasshouse-inspired space is located in the UIC Building, with a minimalistic colour palette and ample table and counter seating for you to sit and enjoy your coffee. Aside from classic coffee brews, they also have a small retail area where you can purchase some of their merchandise like t-shirts and tote bags.

6. Kurasu

Popular Kyoto-based specialty coffee studio has opened a second outpost in Singapore, and this time it’s much more accessible, located right in the heart of Orchard. The new Kurasu outlet gives off a very different vibe from the original Waterloo outlet, and is more of a takeaway “coffee stand”.

The all-wood exterior of the takeaway kiosk exudes a moody and classy ambience, and you can order inside or through the window. There’s only one singular seat inside the store, so don’t count on being able to enjoy your coffee while sitting down. Aside from their famous coffee brews, you can also get some bakes like cookies from their display.

7. Lola’s Café
Lola’s highly-anticipated reopening at Simon Road is finally complete, unveiling a brand new look similar to their Holland Village outlet: with a Scandinavian-inspired interior, soft curving lines and a cream and wood colour palette, accented with pops of brick red and forest green.
