For what is cinema without the Lumière brothers? Our local cinemas will be screening a curated selection of French films as part of the annual French Film Festival in Singapore. This year’s 10-day extravaganza will see 18 films – comedy, thriller, drama, kids and classics – exclusively available at Golden Village (Plaza Singapura), Alliance française and The Projector.

This is your last weekend to catch an empowering photo exhibition by Objectifs. Women in Photography sees compelling works by 16 women photographers who had to overcome obstacles to create visual narratives that reflect daily struggles, observations and the universal theme of humanity and empathy. Some notable names include Tanya Habjouqa, a Jordanian photojournalist and Sim Chiyin, a renowned Singaporean documentary photographer.
