A new, iconic Starbucks outlet has just landed in Singapore! Say hello to Starbucks at 37 Smith Street, the first-ever Starbucks located in a pastel-hued heritage shophouse here in Singapore.

This new 2-storey Starbucks shophouse is not only situated within the heart of Chinatown, but also boasts plenty of nostalgic nods to Singaporean culture and heritage. Specially commissioned art murals inspired by local culture adorn the walls of the café, done by none other than artist Tiffany Lovage. Instead of just the usual “Starbucks” signage in English, this new outlet features a specially-designed traditional Chinese-inspired signboard that spells “星巴克”—which is “Starbucks” in Chinese characters.

Other heritage elements you’ll find at this iconic outlet include arched window panes and even retro-inspired furniture modelled after HDB void deck chess tables and rounded sofa seats. The whole space is meant to feel warm and inviting, with wood tones and accents that harmoniously blend the traditional and modern.

Another first for this outlet is the addition of a dedicated retail space, featuring a life-sized Merlion installation. Here you can shop outlet-exclusive merchandise like bags, drinkware, plush toys and accessories; including special collections like an elegant calligraphy series, a Singapore-inspired series and even a lion dance-themed collection too.

You can also look forward to an exclusive local-inspired menu featuring brand new drinks and food items. Some of the highlights from the new menu include drinks infused with familiar flavours like Black Sesame Oatmilk Coffee Frappuccino with Soy Pudding (from $9.90) and Yuan Yang Coffee Frappuccino (from $9.90). Food items are provided by Old Seng Choong, with items like XL Chicken Char Siew Puff ($6), Coffee Bolo Bun with Butter ($4.90), Coffee Egg Tart ($3.90) and more.
