MINION LAND SINGAPORE IS NOW OPEN WITH IMMERSIVE MINION-THEMED RIDES, MINION RESTAURANT & DANCE PARADES!

The wait is finally over: the highly-anticipated opening of Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore (USS) has arrived, with the themed funland opening today! The immersive Minion themed land features 3 unique zones, with 3 brand new amusement rides, plenty of IG-worthy spots, themed dining experiences and more. Read on to find out what you can expect from each of the zones within Minion Land.

Super Silly Fun Land: Carnival rides, games & Minion-themed restaurant

This is where you’ll find most of the action, with 2 out of 3 rides located here, plus Minion-inspired dining experiences. Super Silly Fun Land is modelled to be like a seaside carnival affair (just like the one Gru and the girls visited), with a scenic view of the lagoon.

Join the cheeky Minions for a fun ride on Buggie Boogie, the first-ever disco and dance party-themed carousel in Singapore. Silly Swirly lets you get a birds-eye view of Silly Fun Land and the lagoon as you soar overhead in the sky. Both these rides are super leisurely, definitely family and kid-friendly.

There’s also 2 carnival-style booth games: the Ba-Na-Na CaBaNa! ($5 per game), a hammer game where you’ll have to aim a banana to land into one of the coconuts; and the Super Silly Space Killer ($8 per game) an outer space-inspired shooting game where you have to knock down cans to win. Both games are pretty tricky to play (not to mention quite pricey), and you only get one try at winning for each game.

If you’re feeling hungry, stop by the Super Hungry Food Stand, a one-of-a-kind circus tent-inspired restaurant that’s a life-sized replica of the iconic waterfront snack shack from the Despicable Me movie. Food items start from $10, and you can expect Minion-themed mains, snacks and desserts like Stuart’s Japanese Curry Karaage ($19), Unlucky Ducky Creamy Chicken Stew ($19), Chilli Crab Minion Mantous ($12), Fluffy’s Rainbow Cheesecake ($15), Banana Cake Pops ($15) and more.

For a light snack, pop by the Pop-A-Nana popcorn shack to grab some Minion-inspired popcorn in flavours like Banana ($10) or Salted ($10). There’s also an ice cream and dessert shack with ice cream cones from $6 and slushies from $8.

Gru’s Neighbourhood: Immersive motion simulator ride

Ever wondered what Gru’s Neighbourhood from the movies would look like in real life? This zone is probably the closest you’ll get to the movies, with colourful and whimsical houses and shop fronts that resemble an actual street.

Enter the real-life replica of Gru’s iconic house for a sneak peek into Gru’s nefarious lab in the immersive motion simulator ride, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem. Gru’s infamous lab is where humans (namely, you) get turned into a Minion, and the ride itself gives you an inside look on how Minions are created. This is one of the more “exciting” rides at Minion Land, though not the most immersive: ride pods are set up like in a theatre, with most of the action happening on screen and pods tilting/jerking accordingly. While the ride is quite short, we enjoyed the on screen graphics and storytelling too.

Minion Marketplace: Minion-themed merchandise & dance parade

What’s a funland without some treats and merchandise to take home? The Minion Marketplace is where you can get all that, and explore all the charming storefronts the market has to offer.

Spot the massive larger-than-life jawbreaker “vending machine” entrance of the merchandise store, where you can shop exclusive Minion and candy-themed merchandise from as low as $8. There are 3 merchandise sections here: Sweet Surrender, Pop Store and Fun Store. You can expect goods like plush toys, Minion blind boxes, gigantic drinkware, accessories, apparel, toys and more.

There will also be various photo ops with plenty of IG-worthy Minion decor, and also the Minute of Minion Mayhem show where you can say “Bello!” to some of your favourite Minions as they bust out their best dance moves. You’ll also have opportunities to meet The Despicable Me characters like Gru, Lucy, Margo, Edith and Agnes at various Meet & Greet sessions happening throughout the day.
