Cosy loungewear is officially at the top of our must-have list – Pjs have made the quantum leap from the confines of our bedroom to the fashion runway, and we can’t get enough of the comfiest trend this season. From slinky slip dresses, satin shirts to flowy silk trousers, here’s how you can nail the pyjamas trend without looking like you just rolled out of bed.
1. Pyjama Shirt
Shirt dresses are one of the easiest to style – team with a pair of jeans and sneakers and you’re good to go. Culottes, pencil skirts and wide leg trousers are also other chic alternatives, but remember to tuck the shirt in for a more put-together look.
2. Slip Dress
Summer and slip dresses go hand in hand – they’re fuss-free, versatile and comfy in the sweltering heat. These satin dresses go way back to the 80s; accessorise with a choker and a pair of Chelsea boots and you’ll be nailing the retro-chic aesthetic. Alternatively, head east and jump on the Korean bandwagon by layering it over a basic tee. A slip dress and denim jacket combo would make for a streetwear classic.
3. Co-Ord
Co-ords are slightly trickier to pull off. Bear in mind to stick to a silk finish, or you might risk looking like you’re en route to a slumber party. Opt for bolder, abstract prints instead of patterns, and finish the look with a pair of heels – never slippers or ballet flats. Styling the top as an outerwear is also another chic option, giving your outfit more texture.
4. Shirt Dress
Shirt dresses are smart with a hint of romantic luxe. Neutral colours make them more wearable in the day time, and rolling up the sleeves will give the dress a more casual look. They work best with heels or sneakers.
5. Pyjama Trousers
The ever versatile pyjama pants need no further introduction. Breathable without compromising an ounce of class, these timeless trousers are the perfect mix of style and comfort. Wear it with a crop top and sliders for a casual day out, or glam it up with stilettoes and a cami top tucked in for more formal occasions.
