When it comes to pretty cafes across the causeway, it’s no secret that Jalan Tan Hiok Nee and Jalan Dhoby is a treasure trove – but if you’re in search for something a little more off the beaten track, head to HAVN, a stunning factory-turned-cafe located just a 30-minute drive from the checkpoint!

Tucked away in Kulai, this gorgeous cafe is 2-storeys tall with an extremely spacious interior. Sporting a minimalist and industrial-themed decor, it stays true to its refurbished factory backstory, and is completely Instagrammable with its high ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows, and lively splashes of greenery.

Here’s the best part – HAVN has 5 private dining pods perfect for quiet and romantic dates too, and they all boast their very own floor-to-ceiling windows!

As an added bonus, there’s even a lovely garden courtyard for those who wish to dine alfresco, and because the cafe opens till late daily, alcoholic drinks are made available after dusk for you to kick back with a cold brew!

In terms of food offerings, HAVN mostly dishes up Western fare, some with local-inspired dishes like satay pizza. There is an extensive selection to choose from too, with sharing plates, mains, burgers, baked rice, pasta, and pizza available on their menu at an incredibly affordable price!

Plus, because the cafe is so huge, it’s actually split into 3 parts – a restaurant, a co-working space, and a creative area where workshops, exhibitions, and music performances, are held from time to time. Who knows, if you’re lucky enough, you just might get to enjoy some live music in the background as you dine!
