The gallery is currently showing a sea-themed exhibition by Japanese artist Ryoko Kaneta (@knt_ryoko)—the artist’s very first solo exhibition in Singapore. The exhibition is titled ‘From Beyond the Sea’, and draws inspiration from the endless seas of Singapore and Japan, both of which are island nations rich in maritime legends and ancient sea tales.

The exhibition features dreamy and whimsical paintings depicting vast bodies of water like tranquil lakes, cascading waterfalls, undulating sea waves, magnificent mountains, rolling hills and more. The works also contain unique Japanese manga-esque characters: fairies and sea creatures with big eyes and doll-like features—and you might even spot some characters that bear a resemblance to the iconic Singapore Merlion!
