Ever wished you could experience frolicking amongst the vast strawberry fields to handpick your own berries just like the ones in Korea, Japan or the US? Good news, now you won’t have to travel so far to experience this: Singapore now has our very own strawberry farm where you can pluck your fill of fresh strawberries!
Blooom is Singapore’s first seasonal strawberry farm, and it’s situated completely indoors, with seasonal strawberries and other fruits that are grown hydroponically. While you won’t get the exact same experience of a sunny, strawberry farm like in other countries, at least you also won’t have to worry about having to deal with the heat of the outdoors!
Each Harvesting Experience at the farm is priced at $38 for a 45-minute session, and you’ll be given a little basket to fill with as many strawberries as you can possibly fit, and you get to bring them all home with you after! There are various varieties of strawberries in the farm: red, pink and white, all of which are up for the picking. Not only does the farm grow strawberries, they even have cherry tomatoes that you can also pick as part of the harvesting experience.
Note that as the strawberry farm is a highly controlled and clean environment (very much like a laboratory), there’s a couple of sanitary measures you’ll have to follow in order to participate in the harvesting experience. This includes taking an “air shower” before entering the premises, wearing a mask at all times and donning gloves to pick the fruits.
