Put together two of the world’s favourite treats: chocolate and coffee – and you get coffee in a chocolate-coated ice-cream cone. Spotted recently is yet another novelty invention that is fast becoming the most Instagram-ed coffee in the world – that is, the #CoffeeInACone.
#CoffeeInACone is the brainchild of millennial barista Dayne Levinrad, who runs his own cafe cum upmarket cycling shop, The Grind, located at Johannesburg in South Africa. Together with his mother, Dayne harvested the idea of ‘creating something to eat and drink’ and experimented with countless of recipes to find the one leak-proof and heat-resistant chocolate coating for the cone.
With the invention of #CoffeeInACone – now patented by Dayne – one can take nibbles from the chocolate-laced cone while enjoying a warm cup of coffee. The fusion of the coffee’s bitter and sweet flavours is a pleasant surprise to the palate, and it has been extremely well-received by patrons, taking Instagram by storm as well.
