The first time I watched Walt Disney’s Aladdin was 15 years ago and ever since then, I’ve always wanted to become Princess Jasmine with the perfect long hair, iconic blue cropped top and matching pants. Of course, that’s impossible, but the closest I’ll ever get to feeling like her would most definitely be to attend the long-awaited Hit Broadway Musical Aladdin that’s happening from 21st July to 11th August.

As Asia’s one and only stop for the musical, it promises to be an explosion of extravagant visuals featuring dazzling costumes of 1,225 different fabrics, 712 different types of beads and nearly 500,000 Swarovski crystals. There won’t be a flying carpet to take us on the ride of our lives, but there will be life-like sets to transport us to the fictional city of Agrabah, the royal palace where the Sultan and Princess Jasmine resides, the lively marketplace and the Cave Of Wonders.

So if you’d like to feel as if you’re in Agrabah amidst all of the beautiful chaos, the musical has got you covered as it’s 100% based on the 1992 movie – Aladdin discovers Princess Jasmine, falls in love with her, gets into trouble with evil Jafar, encounters a genie and then you know what happens.

Your ears will also be blessed with all your favourite songs from the classic animation like ‘A Whole New World’, ‘Friend like Me’, and ‘Arabian Nights’, as well as some newer songs written exclusively for the musical.
