8. Margaret Market
@chew.and.chill [New] Margaret Market Originally called “Commonwealth Avenue Wet Market” or “Queenstown Market”, this place existed as a market from 1956-2005, was gazetted for conservation in 2014, and opened just a few days ago in Jul 2023. Its new name, “Margaret Market”, is a nod to its heritage, although a market no longer exists, transformed into an air-conditioned mall housing mostly F&Bs. The interior architecture has been preserved so it may evoke a sense of nolstalgia in visitors who were familiar with the old market.
