Cookie, Cuddle, Kiki, Nigel, and his fiancé, are the cutest café-family you’ll ever meet! Housed within a mini boutique along 432 Race Course Road, this newly-opened café prides itself serving artisanal coffee alongside homemade bakes.
Named after two of the café’s adorable puppies, the Cookie and Cuddle café, is not only dedicated to providing animal-lovers from all walks of life the opportunity to interact with man’s best friend, but also represents a safe space where all three dogs can gather and play.
First conceptualized in 2020, Nigel and his fiancé, who are avid lovers of desserts, had spent Singapore’s first nationwide circuit breaker, experimenting with unique recipes, and have since meticulously curated an intimate menu of signature bakes. Learning and perfecting each aspect of new business as they go along, the Cookie and Cuddle café is still very much a work in progress.
Despite being relatively new, Cookie and Cuddle has successfully manage to provide guests with a homely atmosphere, that would be difficult to replicate elsewhere. The couple’s ultimate goal remains to foster strong bonds with regular customers, whilst creating a sense of community and mutual support, amongst all patrons and neighboring businesses.
Popularised for the endearing doggyaki pancake, Cookie and Cuddle serves hot plates of adorable dog-shaped pancakes topped by a pure dark chocolate bone, and two scoops of vanilla, and cookies and cream ice cream for $12. Alternatively, guests are welcome to order one scoop of ice cream for $4, or any cookie for $4, from their selection of flavours, which include, Tahini White Sesame, Brown Butter Macadamia Nut, and Dark Seasalt.
Perhaps the most impressive detail from my visit, would be the café’s home baked brownies for $5.50. Offering two alternatives – hot brownies and cold brownies – the café prides itself in crafting every dish by hand, with no machine assistance.
Utilizing premium chocolate and butters, Nigel and his fiancé hope guests will taste the full effect of their tender loving care. Available in three variations – classic, walnut, and cookie dough – Cookie and Cuddle’s signature brownies are topped by premium sea salt for added flavour.
Complete with a range of espressos for $3, macchiatos for $3.50, and black coffees for $4.50, amidst a variety of others, Cookie and Cuddle incorporates quality beans from Peru to provide a standardized sweet and chocolatey taste.
Their most notable beverage, and the one that I had the pleasure of tasting, is the Masalatte, worth an estimated $6 to $7. Regarded a play on words, Masalatte is inspired by traditional Indian cuisine, and a modern day espresso with steamed milk. Filled to the brim with milky flavours, the Masalatte is served alongside diced cold brownies, characterized by light hints of spice, and made visually appealing by the café’s intricate milk artwork.
