So you’ve conquered every Instagrammable cafe there is near the Johor Bahru checkpoint and it’s time to expand your search beyond the vicinity – just drive up to Mount Austin, which is located an hour away, and head to Homibing Ground!

Recently opened early this month, Homibing Ground is a Korean dessert cafe with a unique 3-in-1 concept that boasts bingsu, a crowd-favourite Korean street snack known as hotteok (Korean pancakes), and milk tea from NINETEEN TEA, a milk tea store hailing from Korea!

Filled with a cosy yet rustic vibe, the massive space houses Homibing Café, which serves light desserts like refreshing bingsu and fluffy pancakes.

Flavours include the usual Injeolmi (Korean rice cake), Strawberry, and Melon, as well as more unique choices like Taro and Milk Tea!

The hotteoks are made by myhotteok, a container kiosk that specialises in made-to-order sweet and savoury treats. Fried till golden brown, the pancakes are crispy on the outside and almost mochi-like on the inside, with fillings like Honey, Cream Cheese, Egg Salad, and Jjim Chicken (Chicken and Cheese).

You can wash it all down with premium milk tea at My19Tea, which uses freshly-brewed Assam and jasmine tea leaves. No doubt, their highlight is their Meringue Milk Tea (RM13.90, approximately S$4.63), which sweet-toothed folks would love!
