Festivals and events in Singapore
July is upon us and while there aren’t any public holidays this month, we’ve got plenty of parties, events, and festivals all lined-up, starting with one of our most popular street party, the largest farmer’s market in Singapore, and a mouth-watering world oyster festival happening this weekend!
1. Urban Ventures X

The much-loved Urban Ventures’ street party is back for its 10th edition, Urban Ventures X! To celebrate this milestone, they’re going carbon-neutral with a jam-packed program schedule that includes yoga, Capoeira street performance, art workshops with Room To Imagine, a sidecar Vespa tour, free manicure by Vaniday, and live DJ sets and music performances.
Shop around from vendors like Beans to Bars, PLAIN SUPPLIES, Sugar & Spice, and Spatula & Whisk at their Artisanal Market if the programmes aren’t your cup of tea, or raid the wardrobe of stylish influencers like Sonia Tan, Nicole Wong, Grace Lim, and Myke Motus at the Underground Market!

Don’t worry if you get peckish either, because there will be F&B booths present with all sorts of delicious food to dig into, including stalls from Brotzeit Singapore, Coocaça, Uncle G’s Handmade, and HRVST Restaurant & Bar.
As usual, admission is free, but this time round you can get a 5% discount at all F&B and Artisans Market booths so long as you donate a minimum of $5 to the Transient Workers Count Too-TWC2 here!

2. Sprout 2018

If you’re into healthy living and eating clean, head down to Sprout 2018, Singapore’s largest 2-day farmers market. You’ll be able to find locally-grown greens and organic health foods like acai and cold-pressed juices from urban farmers, artisanal and specialty food brands, as well as sustainability-conscious restaurants!

Some of the vendors include HIC JUICE, A Poke Theory, and Handpicked, who will be selling an exclusive batch of artisan Black Sesame Noodles made just for this event!

3. Singapore Theatre Festival

Play buffs, mark your calendars for this year’s Singapore Theatre Festival! Featuring a total of 8 local plays staged across 2 weeks, you’ll be in for some exciting and riveting stories about media freedom, surveillance, racism, heritage, love, and more. 4. Pink Screen at The Projector

For those of you who are proud advocates of the LGBT community, show your support and celebrate loving freely at Pink Screen at The Projector! Organised as part of Pink Fest 2018, there will be 4 specially curated films screening, which will be sure to tug on your heartstrings with themes focusing on acceptance, love, and growing up pains. These include award-winning film God’s Own Country and 120 BPM, which was nominated for the Palme d’Or at Cannes.

5. Greenwood Fish Market: 6th World Oyster Festival

Indulge yourself with 22 different kinds of fresh oysters flown in live from all around the world at Greenwood Fish Market’s 6th World Oyster Festival! The month-long event kicked off on 1st July and boasts oyster variants uncommonly found here in Singapore, which includes the Mary Point and Kumamoto – the former boasts a huge flesh size, soft texture, and musky flavour, and the latter is mildly briny and sweet with a pleasantly surprising honeydew finish!

6. L’Occitane Beauty Bar and Pop-Up Cafe: A Journey In Every Sense

Beauty and makeup junkies, this one’s for you – well-known for their floral-herbal skincare and body care products, French cosmetics brand L’Occitane is here in Singapore with a pop-up beauty bar and cafe!
This is the first time the famous L’Occitane Cafe will be on our shores, with outlets in both Paris and Tokyo, and it will have delectable desserts created by homegrown dessert maestro Janice Wong. Inspired by L’Occitane’s iconic natural ingredients, you can expect treats made with cherry blossom, verbena, bergamot, rose, and almond.

7. Sunshine Nation pres. Monkey Safari (GER)

8. Rainforest Lumina

We’ve never had the chance to see the sunset at the Singapore Zoo, but in celebration of its 45th birthday, we can now do so with their brand new attraction, Rainforest Lumina! It’s the first multi-sensory night walk in Asia, and the 1km light trail will feature over 10 interactive zones with various light installations and projections such as the Luminous Pathway, Shimmering Islands, and Lantern Passage.
